We assess the timber, existing coating and exposed areas before recommending the scope of work. Preparation can include cleaning, sanding, removing loose coating and dust removal before a suitable finish is applied. Peeling paint, greying timber and a previously oiled surface can need different preparation, so the quote should reflect your deck rather than a one-size-fits-all coating package.
The choice between oil, stain and paint depends on the existing finish, the timber’s condition and the look you want. Tell us whether you want to retain a timber appearance or change the colour. We discuss preparation and coating options before work begins, including any limitations caused by the previous coating. Maintenance depends on the selected product, exposure and use; we do not promise the same recoating interval for every deck.
